The figure, form, pattern, shape, height and width vary in different types of staircases. The budget for the construction of the stairs, the space for the stairs and the shape and form it will be built will be according to the taste of the builder. Sweeping from above to the area below is the form of a grand circular staircase and makes for a remarkable impression. Going straight from above to the next lower floor type of staircase can take up a great deal of space (except when the stair step is built steep) but is not difficult to build. A safer type of stairs is one stopping at a landing and turning 90 or 180 degrees and not much space is needed. Although transporting objects that are big from one floor to another would not be easy with a staircase which is spiral in shape and it difficult to climb, therefore impractical, it is however economical.
Information about building different types of stairs, guidance in maintaining them and the type of stairs that are being used today are discussed in this section of Home Tips.
