Your Home Style and Your Personality

A home is like the clothes you are wearing. It should fit your personality for you to be able to be comfortable with it. Keep in mind that if you are buying a house it often requires a long term commitment thus choosing the right style of house for your personality is essential.

Home styles fall under four general categories: Contemporary, European, Traditional, and a combination of Ranch, Bungalow and Prairie.

The contemporary home style is perfect for those who choose to live an ultra modern way of life. If you are stylish and chick, always updated of the latest trends, always on the move, then the contemporary style of home with its huge windows, flat roofs, and high ceilings is a good choice for you.

There is only one way to describe the European home style — classic elegance. The European home style features antiques and classic architectural designs fit for someone who enjoys traveling and appreciates the uniqueness of every place. If you are the sophisticated, elegant and worldly type, your best choice will be the European style of home.

The traditional home, on the other hand, is a good option for those who have simple but elegant tastes. Traditional homes give you a feeling of warmth and comfort, but definitely not behind in times. Cape Cod, Victorian, and Colonnial house styles use traditional home styles. The resale value of traditional homes is quite high, so this makes for a good investment as well.

The typical ranch, bungalow and prairie home style has a very simple exterior, and is ideal for those who simply love and enjoy life, someone who wants to have fun, who is unassuming, warm and vibrant, and who?s true to himself, as well as to others. If you are this kind of person, then your personality should mix well with the ranch, bungalow and prairie home style. This home style is regarded much for its simplicity and welcoming aura, and it looks great with porches and balconies.

When shopping for a home, remember to consider your personality also in order for you to find the perfect one that you can live in for the rest of your life.
